The fireplace the empty space the look upon my face
I looked in the mirror and there’s no way I’m going outside today
The fireplace it left its trace and it will never be replaced
I looked out the window and then I’d say its not even nice out anyway
Copy paste it’s all the same and I’m the only one to blame
I looked out the window and then I’d say “a perfect day to stay the same”
You’re not as smart as you think you’ve just been talking it up
Digging in deeper you slowly start to cover it up
It’s not the way that it was, you’re not the way that you were, it’s not the way that it was so you should just toughen up
You gotta stick to your ground you gotta stick with me now
You told me you would so there is no way of working it out
You gotta stick to your ground, you gotta stick with me now
You gotta stay who you were
So slow down
You’re ahead of yourself
You’ll find your way around but you lost yourself
So slow down
You’re ahead of yourself
You’ll find your way around but you lost yourself
Call it mood solitude call it anything you want to
Call me rude you know its true call me any name you have to x2
One of my favorite albums of all time. Turnover really hit a sound here that resonates with me deeply, and I often find myself coming back to this record and falling in love with it all over again. The drums and bass are greatly underrated on this album, creating their own unique melodies that fit within the song and create something new rather than just follow the guitars. Nothing beats the somehow joyful and somber sound of this record. Rob Carpenter
