about
"Lauren" is a song that was inspired by a dream. A dream that I had while I was sleeping at my parents house. In the dream I remember not being able to move, just laying on the ground staring at the window when a woman appeared. Someone I had never met before but felt like I knew. I don't remember much else from the dream but when I woke up that morning and unlocked my phone I opened my notes app and typed "don't lose hope." For some reason that was the first thought I had that morning. Where the name "Lauren" ties in is kind of deep, but a few years before I was born my mother had a miscarriage, it was a girl they were going to name Lauren. After telling my mother about the dream, I decided the dream was worth writing a song about.
lyrics
The wind is blowing through your window
It's getting dark as you conjure up
The air is cold, your breath smells like smoke
But you were all I could remember when I awoke
You said don't lose hope
And now the sky is completely black
As if the world acknowledged a life that's passed
But if you're not there to call my bluffs
Would anyone care if I spoke up
You said don't lose, hope
The night you came you spoke to me
You found me in the midst of a dream
But I don't know if I can believe it
The night you came you spoke to me
You said some things that I cannot repeat
And I don't know if I can believe it
Not in the end
You told me
The sun will rise
If you choose to believe
Then I’ll see you soon
The night you came you spoke to me
You found me in the midst of a dream
But I don't know if I can believe it
The night you came you spoke to me
And said some things that I cannot repeat
And I don't know if I can believe it
Oh not in the end
In the end
Not in the end
In the end
